Small World After All
It’s a Small World After All was originally created as a ride called Children of the World, for the 1964 New York World’s Fair UNICEF pavilion, sponsored by Pepsi. Designed by WED Enterprises, they were only given 11 months to complete their design. They used a similar ride system created for Pirates of the Caribbean which called for a new design for the boats. The Sherman Brothers originally wrote the song as a round, much like “row – row – row your boat”.
On April 22, 1964 the World’s Fair opened and It’s a Small World attraction was a hit with tickets costing $0.60 for children and $0.95 for adults. The pieces for the attraction were brought back from the World’s fair and opened in Disneyland on May 28, 1966. It’s a Small World After All opened in Walt Disney World in 1971 when the park opened. This shirt is our tribute to the iconic ride and the Sherman Brothers for writing an instant classic.
