WED Enterprises sought after thrill ride ideas after WDW opened in 1971. Many people think that Space Mountain originated in Disneyland, but Space Mountain opened at WDW in January 1975 and then in Disneyland in May for 1977. This dark ride is a classic and remains very close to the original ride at WDW since it’s opening but they do feature a Star Wars” Hyperspace Mountain as a seasonal attraction.
