One of our favorite shows is Boardwalk Empire.  I know, its not Disney caliber but still a great show.  We were talking how Disney could do more on the Boardwalk to make it look more like Atlantic City – literally just yesterday.  We thought they could do more restaurants, more shops and shows and utilize more of the space.  We have only eaten at ESPN at the Boardwalk once over 23 years so we are not surprised to see it being demolished.   We would not be surprised if the Atlantic Dance Hall at the other end is repurposed as well and Jelly Rolls.  Never been in but that doesn’t mean its not great.

Elements of the ESPN Club  are being torn down to make way for The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers a new table-service restaurant and bakery to Disney’s Boardwalk Area.  Expected to open in 2023 in the ESPN Club location, this restaurant will offer both savory and dessert menus, along with afternoon tea service, in a whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of the idyllic charm of Disney’s BoardWalk that guests know and love.  We are unsure if the whole building will be demolished or if the ESPN elements will be removed for this new table service restaurant.
