T-REX Restaurant

T-REX Restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort is a one-of-a-kind dining experience located in the Marketplace section of Disney Springs. Operated by Landry’s—the same company behind Rainforest Cafe—T-REX offers guests a prehistoric adventure that combines immersive theming, interactive zones, and hearty American cuisine. It’s a favorite among families, especially those with dinosaur-loving kids, and provides a memorable blend of entertainment and dining.

Atmosphere and Theming

From the moment you step inside, T-REX transports you back 200 million years to a world dominated by dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. The restaurant is divided into several themed rooms, each representing a different primordial landscape. Guests can dine in a color-changing ice cavern, a lush fern forest buzzing with giant animatronic wasps, or even inside the belly of a triceratops. Overhead, squawking pterosaurs and woolly mammoths add to the ambiance, while a massive 15-foot-tall animatronic T. Rex steals the show.

One of the most exciting features is the meteor shower that occurs approximately every 20 minutes. During this event, the lights dim, the ground rumbles, and fiery “explosions” simulate a cataclysmic prehistoric event. It’s loud, dramatic, and thrilling—perfect for kids and adults alike who enjoy a bit of theatrical flair with their meal.

Dining Experience

T-REX serves American fare with a menu that caters to a wide range of tastes. Whether you’re a carnivore craving ribs and steak or a herbivore looking for salads and pasta, there’s something for everyone. Popular dishes include the Gigantosaurus Burger, Fire-Roasted Rotisserie Chicken, and Tar Pit Fried Shrimp. For kids, fun options like Jurassic Chicken Tidbits and Paleo Pizza are shaped like dinosaurs to keep the theme going.

Appetizers such as the Buffalo Chicken Dip and the Supersaurus Sampler are great for sharing, while desserts like the Chocolate Extinction—a towering concoction of chocolate fudge cake, ice cream, whipped topping, and Butterfinger crumbs—are a showstopper. Specialty drinks, including cocktails served in souvenir glasses, add a festive touch to the meal.

Interactive Zones and Retail

Beyond dining, T-REX offers interactive experiences that make it more than just a restaurant. The Paleo Zone is a hands-on area where budding paleontologists can dig for fossils, pan for treasures in Discovery Creek, and learn about dinosaurs through educational displays. It’s a great way to keep kids entertained before or after the meal.

The Dino-Store is another highlight, offering a wide range of dinosaur-themed merchandise, toys, apparel, and souvenirs. One of the most popular attractions here is the Build-A-Dino® by Build-A-Bear Workshop®, where guests can create their own plush dinosaur to take home.

Reservations and Tips

Due to its popularity, especially among families, reservations are strongly recommended. You can book online or by calling (407) 828-8739. The restaurant accepts the Disney Dining Plan and offers discounts for Annual Passholders and Landry’s Select Club members.

T-REX is a loud and lively place, so it may not be ideal for those seeking a quiet meal. However, for families and dinosaur enthusiasts, it’s a must-visit destination that combines food, fun, and fantasy in a way that few other restaurants can match.
